The My Fabulous Self Campaign launched exactly one year ago today. Thank you to the beautiful humans who helped make this happen: Angela Nuhn Creative for genius creativity, and ambassadors Maria Chung, Julia Abraszko, and Shannon Julia. Each of you brought forth your expertise, your passions, and your energy, and I am so thankful for you.
The inspiration to launch this campaign was my own personal journey; I have gone through a transformation of self-hate, anger, and feeling inadequate, to believing I am capable, fierce, and strong.
Today, I am determined to spread this message and to help empower other people to become their best selves. Why? Because it starts with each individual. It starts with each of us and our perceptions of ourselves. This drives our professional and personal choices, which impacts the quality of our relationships, friendships, careers, and health. It determines the legacy we leave behind when we leave this world.
The foundation of this campaign is to celebrate our strengths while working to better our best. As a Personal Wellness Coach, this is really important to me. We are not damaged, broken, or less than, for anything that may have happened or not happened in our past. We have all gone through hardships, some more than others. It isn’t always fair, it doesn’t always make sense, and sometimes it’s absolutely horrible and unfathomable. Whether you were bullied, were diagnosed with a disease, live with a mental or physical disability, experienced death and loss, or have held on to shame for whatever reason, you are enough. I am enough. We are all enough. Regardless of race, spirituality, sexual orientation, gender, age, size, we are all human beings. We are more similar than we are different. We all need nourishment, movement, joy, laughter, compassion, and love.
“Hurt people, hurt people. Healed people, heal people.”
The answer to hurt and pain isn’t to inflict more hurt and pain. The answer to ignorance isn’t blame, anger and rage. Obviously, I do not know all of the answers, but I do know one thing for sure: #LoveWins. We can’t make other people love us, or other people love other people. But we can, individually, focus on self-love and hope to inspire others.
This past year here through the Campaign, we learned about some fabulous people in our communities and their inspiring stories; we exercised, learned and grew with the Inner Circle at FITSANITY’s Bootcamp And Seminar Series; and, we contributed to mental health awareness. Although we have done some good work so far, we have much left to do. Today, more than ever, we need to celebrate our strengths, treat ourselves with dignity, love, and compassion, and to come together as better humans.
